Raw Materials.

Helping you fast-track your product’s entry into the European market, the strictest market in the world, effortlessly

The EU’s raw materials regulatory process is the strictest in the world. The good news is, your material’s EU/UK compliance can facilitate your entry into other global markets. Most acustoms accepts European Safety Data Sheets.

Manufacturers of 1 ton or more

As a manufacturer of raw materials, you are required to register your substances manufactured in or imported into the EU in quantities of 1 ton or more per year, via the EU’s REACH regulation.

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) places the burden of proof on companies. To comply with the regulation, companies must identify and manage the risks linked to the substances they manufacture and market in the EU.

In principle, REACH applies to all chemical substances; not only those used in industrial processes but also in our day-to-day lives, for example in cosmetics, cleaning products, paints as well as in articles such as clothes, furniture and electrical appliances. Therefore, the regulation has an impact on most companies across the EU.

The registration process is lengthy (it can take several months) and complex. It requires a well-structured and methodical approach to help you save time and money. Toxi Plan’s chemists, toxicologists and eco-toxicologists are here to help every step of the way. There are 9 Steps. We broke it down for you below.

Manufacturers of less than 1 ton

Although there are no regulations (currently) covering the manufacturing of raw materials less than 1 ton annually, studies have shown that sustainable raw materials drive profitability. For many manufacturers of finished products, certified safe (environmental and/or human health) raw materials are needed to meet their own regulatory compliance.
