Toxi Plan takes care of cosmetic product safety assessment according to the cosmetic regulation 1223/2009/EC.
Our experts worked in major French and American cosmetic companies. They are very aware of the different stages of research and development (R&D), that is to say the key stages where regulatory toxicologist must take part.
We therefore propose to evaluate the safety of your cosmetic products from the laboratory stage to post-market surveillance (drafting of cosmetovigilance or adverse event reports).
Here are our services covering, step-by-step, cosmetic product safety assessment :
BENCHTOP SAFETY ATTESTATION
PRE-CLINICAL & CLINICAL SAFETY TESTING MANAGEMENT
COSMETIC PRODUCT SAFETY REPORT (CPSR)
PRODUCT INFORMATION FILE (PIF)
COSMETIC PRODUCT NOTIFICATION PORTAL (CPNP)
COSMETOVIGILANCE OR ADVERSE EVENT REPORT
SAFETY DATA SHEET (SDS) DRAFTING
COSMETIC SAFETY AUDIT
COSMETIC SAFETY TRAINING
The safety assessment of your current formulas will allow a leverage on your new cosmetic formulas. That is, thanks to « safety and regulatory » history of your previous formulas evaluated by Toxi Plan, we will be able to reuse data (subject to validation) for generating safety assessment reports of your new cosmetic products. This leverage strategy will help to save time and money on the development of your new cosmetic products.
Regulatory pre-assessment includes regulatory compliance verification of raw material documents (e.g. SDS, certificates of analysis etc.). In the cosmetics industry, supplies of raw materials from supplier N°1 can fail during batch production of a cosmetic product. One of the most practical solutions is to use suppliers N°2 or N°3 to continue producing (we talk about « multi-sourcing »). Toxi Plan proposes anticipating safety for « multi-sourcing » by verifying regulatory compliance of raw materials from all suppliers.
The ecotoxicological option includes the drafting of ecotoxicological profiles for all ingredients in the formula, establishment of experimental plan in ecotoxicology for the formula, ecotoxicological testing management and interpretation report to substantiate ecological/ecotoxicological claims for the formula.
If you choose the ecotoxicological option, you could integrate the ecotoxicological database of Toxi Plan’s future mobile application. This app will scan products referenced to Toxi Plan to show consumers the impact of your ingredients and cosmetic products on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
safety data sheet (sds) drafting
The development of SDS is intended to inform workers on the precautions to be taken (e.g. PPE, Personal Protective Equipment) to handle chemicals. Cosmetic products are not concerned by establishing SDS because consumers are targeted and already protected by the product cosmetic safety report (CPSR).
However, many cases (e.g. storage, transport) show that SDS is often requested for cosmetics. Toxi Plan proposes to write SDS for your cosmetic products to meet customs requirements, as well as facilities requiring environmental impact assessment (ICPE, French environment code).
COSMETIC SAFETY TRAINING
We provide trainings on regulatory toxicology and cosmetic product safety assesment to professionals and students. In 2019, we are involved in business incubators dedicated to natural cosmetics (e.g. La Fabrique 621 in Paris) and Masters’ degrees in toxicology and ecotoxicology of French universities (e.g. the University of Toulouse III Paul Sabatier, the University of Angers, the University of Bordeaux).
The future mobile application where you will see the impact of ingredients, products and packaging on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
Join us on Instagram to follow the development progress of our ecotoxicological mobile application. We will gradually announce brands and products that join the ecotoxicological database of Toxi Plan’s mobile application. Then, you will be able to scan the products referenced on our application and see their effects on the environment (e.g. phytoplankton, zooplankton, plants etc.).
@companies, reinforce your environmental commitment to your consumers and evaluate environmental risks of your ingredients, products and packaging at Toxi Plan. We are a fully independent and impartial scientific company.
@consumers, Toxi Plan does not belong to any industrial group. The company is managed by a toxicologist/ecotoxicologist/chemist who is supported by its scientific experts. We defend values such as human health, the environmental protection, the scientific evidence and integrity. This application is designed to help you select the product that will have the least impact on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
